James Harrington,
2024 Vice President
Assistant district attorney James Harrington joined the Erie County District Attorney’s Office in July 2021. He most recently served in the office’s Justice Courts Bureau where he handled cases in Amherst, Boston and Blasdell town courts. He is now assigned to the Raise the Age Unit, which is responsible for the investigation and prosecution of the most serious and violent crimes committed by adolescent offenders (ages 16 and 17) and juvenile offenders (ages 15 and younger) in Youth Part.
Harrington is a native of Buffalo who graduated from Hutchinson Central Technical High School. In May 2019 he obtained his juris doctorate from the University at Buffalo School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree in legal studies form Kaplan University and completed his master’s in business administration at D’Youville University. In addition to his involvement with MBAWNY, Harrington is a current member and former chairman of Black Men Talking, a local charitable organization.
After completing his one-year term as vice president/president-elect, Harrington will serve as president of the MBAWNY starting in December 2024.
