August 2024 Member Spotlight: Kerisha Hawthorne-Greer
In August it is a pleasure to spotlight Kerisha Hawthorne-Greer, Esq. Throughout her legal career, she has demonstrated a commitment to public service and her community.
Dedication to Helping Others
Hawthorne-Greer is the principal law clerk to Hon. Stephanie A. Saunders at New York State Court of Claims, Buffalo District. Prior to her current role, she was an attorney with the Erie County Department of Social Services, where she litigated child neglect and child abuse cases.
She also worked for five years in the legal services field representing low-income individuals and families in immigration, housing, unemployment and consumer benefits matters. She has also served as an adjunct faculty in the paralegal program at SUNY Erie.
Commitment to the Legal Community
Hawthorne-Greer is active in the legal community as a director of the University at Buffalo Law School alumni association and a member of the MBAWNY, where she currently serves as the chair of the Judicial Ratings Committee.
She is also the Vice President of Neighborhood Legal Services Board of Directors, as well as a founding board of trustee for Primary Hall Preparatory Charter School.

Hawthorne-Greer is a firm believer that “to whom much is given, much is expected.” She received her juris doctor degree cum laude from the University at Buffalo School of Law and her bachelor’s degree (in English literature and psychology) summa cum laude from SUNY Geneseo.
