February 2024 Attorney Spotlight: Linwood Roberts Jr.
This month we’re proud to spotlight MBAWNY member Linwood Roberts Jr. of the Law Offices of Linwood Roberts, PLLC.
Roberts was born in Buffalo, New York, and moved to New York City as a preteen. He is a United States Marine Corps Veteran, serving at the rank of Corporal, and he was honorably discharged in 1996. Linwood went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from St. John’s University in Jamaica, Queens, in 1999. He then returned to Buffalo in 2003 to attend law school, earning a J.D. degree in 2006 and a master’s degree in 2010, both at the University at Buffalo Law School.
Roberts is an attorney practicing in the areas of criminal law, corporations and trusts, and estates. Further, as an attorney in real estate transactions, he handles the legal responsibilities related to real estate transactions. He represents the buyer, seller or lender’s interests — and one of his many duties is to prepare and review the relevant paperwork needed for the sale and purchase of the property. He also negotiates real estate deals, drafts and review real estate contracts, carries out title searches, drafts title insurance policies, prepares closing documents, handles real estate disputes and litigation, acts as a representative in foreclosure actions, and deals with zoning and land use issues.
It’s an honor to have Roberts as a member of the Minority Bar Association of WNY.
